A sweet little birthday girl...

More delicious baby...coming up!

Here is a scrumptious little girl that arrived just one week ago, although she was only 5 days old here. And, can we say "working the camera?". She stayed awake the entire time, seemed to notice the clicking of the camera and looked directly at me. Gotta love that!!

This session was taken in her very own room (which was beautiful, by the way...).

A couple of adorable kids came out to play at Waveland with me in the sweet early evening light that I absolutely LOVE! We had a ton of fun and they did fabulously!

A sweet little Angel...

This little girl is just as angelic as she looks. Just 10 days old, she was so tolerant of being moved and adjusted...

Daycare Picture Sneak Peek...

Here are just a few pictures that I took at the daycare last week... There's something to be said when a little kid knows you well enough that they flash their "picture smile" at you when they see you. This little girl gives me this smile every time I look in her direction with my camera. It's only when she's not paying attention that I get the real stuff...I'll post those later...

Usually both of these boys are just a blur through the lens! On the go and always adorable!

If you know this kid, you know that it's expected to see a sweet picture, he just doesn't take anything but!

This is from a recent session with a 9 month old little girl, that is simply scrumptious!

Simply beautiful

What a great location! This was a session that took place at a beautiful farm. Perfect lighting under these trees and these girls were just precious! Notice the feet off the ground as the girls skip down the lane...

Another natural

Straight out of the camera. Absolutely no editing or adjustment. I love it! There are only about 3 minutes in a given day to capture this light and I love it when I'm in the right place at the right time. It's even better when I'm with an open-minded subject that trusts me and allows me the freedom to "do my thing". This is the result......

Finally...picture day!

The anticpation of hopping on my backdrop and knowing she looked completely adorable was way too exciting for this little girl! And, these are just a couple of looks that she gave me. I met her at the daycare when she was just a baby and now she's very familiar with me. She gave me the biggest smile I think I've ever seen on any child! Of course, once the "parent's" pictures were out of the way, the vest came off and the hair bow was taken out so she went for the centerfold pose. I think we can all agree, a classic pose for most toddlers. (She actually held this pose until she heard the shutter click). I love it!

I am not worthy...

I'm in awe of the mother that gave birth (at home, mind you...) to this 13 pound 11 ounce baby girl. We had to do a portrait using the baby scale because it's just perfect! She didn't fit all the way on it since she was 22 inches long at birth. Here she's 2 weeks old and after losing a bit and putting it back on, as babies do, she's just pushing 14 pounds. Wearing 3-6 month clothing already and skip the size 1 diapers! I was so excited about this baby, I think I've mentioned it to so many people and now you can see for yourselves, how delectable this baby is! Did I mention this was baby girl #3 for this sweet family?

Here are three adorable kids that were great even in the rainy weather!

Sweet Light...

If you've had a portrait session with me, you'll hear me say during the long months that the best time to start is no earlier than 6:30 in the evening for the "sweet light". I love that soft, golden lighting that makes hair light up and eyes sparkle. I love it...can't get enough of it! Well, the exception to that rule is the light in this house at 5:30pm. Here are a few shots from an in-home session this evening where the light was beautiful and I didn't even need to set up my lights! Straight out of the camera with the exception of a quick bw conversion, here are a few raw and uninhibited images from a family as sweet as they are good looking. This image leaves me speechless and is definitely my favorite of all the images that I've taken of this little girl (and I've taken a lot!). K., you did such a great job just being you! All I need is a spoon...I could eat him up!

In the City

Here are a few from one of my downtown sessions today. Perfect weather, perfect lighting, perfect subject...what more can I say.

Grandparent's Day is September 9th!

Don't forget September 9th! It's Grandparent's Day is it should be celebrated! But, even if you send a card to remind your special Grandparent's that they are loved...it will make their day!

One of my sure bet subjects...

There are just a few children that I don't even have to put forth any effort and I am guaranteed the "it" shot. This is one of those kids. Her Mom decided to step out of the room (smart woman...the dynamics are completely different). She naturally falls into position with little or no direction and continues to interact with me the entire time. During these images, she was explaining to me how her leggings made her legs brown (since they're brown leggings, of course) and her Mom picked out the outfit when they went shopping. Many other tidbits were discussed but I must maintain some level of confidentiality...

Simply beautiful

Girls...so delicate, so sweet...

I laugh every time I look at this image. Her Mom appreciated the humor in it as well. This may not be one that she will want when senior pictures come around but, for now, this is classic in my book!
