I am not worthy...

I'm in awe of the mother that gave birth (at home, mind you...) to this 13 pound 11 ounce baby girl. We had to do a portrait using the baby scale because it's just perfect! She didn't fit all the way on it since she was 22 inches long at birth. Here she's 2 weeks old and after losing a bit and putting it back on, as babies do, she's just pushing 14 pounds. Wearing 3-6 month clothing already and skip the size 1 diapers! I was so excited about this baby, I think I've mentioned it to so many people and now you can see for yourselves, how delectable this baby is! Did I mention this was baby girl #3 for this sweet family?

Tiny little man

Here's one little man that came in the other day. He arrived much earlier than expected but is as bright-eyed as I've ever seen! Very sweet!

Just a few more...

I've been lagging in posting new images so here's just a few from an urban session I did recently.

COSTUME PORTRAITS!!

October 27th 10am to 6pm in the new studio!
Still only $10 per child!
If you joined us last year, you know that we had fun (although, maybe a few tears...) and everyone looked so adorable! I plan to have even more fun this year and I would love to see returning customers! New customers are always welcome, although, if you have not had a private session I do recommend one as these are "mini" sessions and the same time allowance is not possible. However, we usually get some great shots, anyway!
More details will be posted in the next day or so (I must sleep at some point today) so check back or email me directly. If you know you want to schedule a time call soon, this will book quickly so don't miss out!

New Studio!

Well, I am close to being moved into my new studio! Yay!! Whew! What a chore it's been. Especially, doing it in between sessions! I'm so thankful for Starbucks and just need to give a little shout out to them because I would never have gotten as much accomplished. Although, I'm not in the location that I had originally planned on as the construction was never complete (I was supposed to be moved in there on July 15th!) and I simply couldn't continue to reschedule and postpone my events. Thank you to those of you that were understanding with the rescheduling and were so patient in the interim. I apologize for any confusion on my new address, I know some people have actually driven over to the other location without realizing that the move hadn't happened. I will post pictures later this week to give you all a peek at how much space there will be! Very exciting! The new address is: 501 Darby Creek Rd. Suite 38 Lexington, Kentucky 40509. Please continue to use the PO Box for mailing until I'm completely moved in and situated. I don't want to miss anything! Call me if you have any questions or just drop by! I'm still doing sessions on location so I'm not always in the studio. It may be best to give me a call if you think of it so you can save a trip if I'm not there.

Another New Product Preview!

Here is one of the Decorative Proof Albums. The patterns and colors vary from traditional to modern colors and designs such as this one. It even comes with matching orange photo corners~I love it! This album has pages that are 8x10 in size and each has a glassine overlay to protect the prints between them. This particular album can hold every image from your portrait session. Of course, everything is acid free and archival quality so it will last several lifetimes over.

NEW PRODUCT PREVIEW!!

I will be posting some of the new products that I'll be offering as I re-vamp my product list. I'll post more later tonight so check back!!

This is the Proof Album, an item that you can take from the studio (if purchased, of course) the same day you come to place your order and view your images. The proofs do not have the Dream Capture watermark on them, however, no copyright release or authorization is given-no reproduction will be allowed. These are 4x5 bordered images that are arranged in an archival quality album with acid-free corners. The prints will be in both color and black and white (not one of each). The images can be rearranged if you like, at your leisure. Album colors will vary and the pages can be either white, black, or winter white.
After many requests to purchase the proofs, I've decided to offer this product on a limited basis. Because everyone may not want an album from their session and, due to time intensity, if you know you are interested in this item please mention it either when you schedule or during your portrait session. This will allow me enough time to prepare your album so that it's ready in time for your proof review. The cost will vary depending upon your order total and if you had a private or mini session.

Sweet Light...

If you've had a portrait session with me, you'll hear me say during the long months that the best time to start is no earlier than 6:30 in the evening for the "sweet light". I love that soft, golden lighting that makes hair light up and eyes sparkle. I love it...can't get enough of it! Well, the exception to that rule is the light in this house at 5:30pm. Here are a few shots from an in-home session this evening where the light was beautiful and I didn't even need to set up my lights! Straight out of the camera with the exception of a quick bw conversion, here are a few raw and uninhibited images from a family as sweet as they are good looking. This image leaves me speechless and is definitely my favorite of all the images that I've taken of this little girl (and I've taken a lot!). K., you did such a great job just being you! All I need is a spoon...I could eat him up!
